Four Factors Framework
2026-27 regular season · 15 teams
Based on Basketball on Paper — Dean Oliver, 2004
How the Model Works
Dean Oliver identified four key factors that explain ~90% of a team's offensive and defensive efficiency. Each factor has an empirically-derived weight. The same four factors apply to both offense and defense — giving you 8 levers total.
